Estate and Elder Law Attorney

**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, PLC is seeking a qualified, compassionate, and self-motivated estate and elder law attorney to join their team. This full-time position will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to clients as they make end-of-life decisions and navigate end-of-life scenarios, using best legal practices along with the firm’s Relational Law principles and model.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the firm fulfill its mission of providing clients with peace of mind and confidence about the future. Job Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as wills, trusts, advance medical directives, powers of attorney, deeds, corporate documents, and agreements
- Advise clients on estate planning, elder law, and estate administration issues, including related real estate, charitable giving, tax, and business issues
- Represent clients in estate, conservator, guardian, and trust administration matters, including preparing the necessary petitions, orders, reports, notices, receipts, inventories, and/or accountings

Required Skills:

- Empathy and genuine concern for individuals and families, particularly aging adults
- Excellent active listening and oral communication skills
- Thorough legal research and writing skills
- Ability to think broadly and analytically about client issues and problems
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- High level of emotional intelligence

Education and Experience:

This position requires a Juris Doctorate as well as a license to practice law in the state of Virginia. Additional licenses in other surrounding states are welcome. A background in estate planning, estate administration, or elder law is preferred, although not required.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding wills, trusts, medical directives, powers of attorney, taxes, guardianship, conservatorship, probate, and Medicaid planning.
