Qualifications: - J.D. degree, additional licensure or education preferred but not required - 3 years of relevant work experience in estate and elder law - Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills - Experience with relevant software programs and ability to anticipate client and firm needs
Responsibilities: - Support managing partner with drafting planning instruments and advising on tax and Medicaid implications - Manage estate and trust administration matters, including interacting with financial institutions and the Surrogate court - Advise on Medicaid spend-down and applications, defend Medicaid clients in fair hearings, and advocate for elderly clients - Engage in litigation related to estate and elder law issues - Develop long-term client relationships and referrals through interpersonal skills and networking events
