Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to provide leadership to our Safety & Mission Assurance team in our Bacchus, UT offices.
Role description & Responsibilities:
The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for:
* Providing regulatory support at for all Federal, State and local environmental regulations for Propulsion Systems' facilities located in Magna, Clearfield and Promontory, Utah. The Position Requires: The position requires: * Develop and execute plans to implement and maintain compliance with environmental regulations * Manage soil remediation and ground water monitoring projects. * Interact with employees and the regulatory community on a wide variety of environmental regulations * Participate and support the regulatory community as new regulatory implementation plans are developed * Negotiate permits and agreements with the regulatory community as environmental regulations are developed and implemented * Interact with members of the community impacted by both historical and current activities. Manage the work load to meet internal and external commitments * Maintain good working relationships within the regulatory and stakeholder * Communicate requirements and future needs to executive leadership * Develop implementation strategies that meet business objectives and environmental requirements.
Experience Requirements:
* 10 years minimum managing environmental related activities with emphasis on Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act and Toxic Substances Control Act * Activities including routine compliance activities and permit negotiations. * Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with the regulatory community, off-site residents, corporate environmental leadership and community based environmental groups * Demonstrated ability to develop and manage the budget for environmental activities. * Strong communication, negotiation and people skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Excellent time management and organizational skills. * Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture. * B.S. or M.S. in engineering or a related science degree such as environmental science, geology, chemistry, etc.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Broad understanding of Federal, State and local environmental regulations along with the associated regulatory programs * Broad understanding of the internal practices and policies of Utah Department of Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency
Education/Certifications
* B.S. or M.S. in engineering or a related science degree such as environmental science, geology, chemistry, etc.
