Job Description
Law Firm is looking for an experienced Environmental Litigation Associate to join its team in either its Newark, New Jersey or New York offices. This position is ideal for an individual with 8-10 years of environmental law experience in the areas of regulatory compliance, environmental litigation, and transactional matters.
The responsibilities of this role include:
• Negotiating access, reimbursement cost-sharing, or purchase and sale agreements with New Jersey’s Spill Act, ISRA, New York’s Navigation Law, CERCLA, RCRA, and related environmental statutes and regulations • Providing legal advice to clients on environmental issues • Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to environmental law • Representing clients in court proceedings • Researching and analyzing environmental laws • Keeping up to date on changes in the environmental law
The ideal candidate for this position should have:
• 8-10 years of environmental law experience • Stellar academics and superior writing and research skills • An ability to work independently and exude and inspire confidence • Flexibility as to location in New Jersey or New York • Joint NJ/NY bar admission (or the ability to obtain/waive-in)
