About the Organization: • Non-profit legal services program • Provides free civil legal assistance to low-income and elderly residents of central and western Mass • Over 160 dedicated, talented staff working across multiple offices • Core work includes effective client-centered advocacy and robust outreach and partnerships with client communities
Job Description: • Focus on handling unemployment cases and cases involving wage and hour issues, leave issues, and employment discrimination • Represent individual clients • Engage in community outreach and education • Work closely with community partners • Based in CLA’s offices in Worcester, Greenfield, and/or Springfield
Qualifications: • Third year law students, recent law school graduates, and more experienced attorneys are eligible to apply • Fluency in Spanish preferred • Experience in poverty or employment law preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Demonstrated dedication to social justice and commitment to working with low-income communities
Compensation: • Starting salary of $71,500, based on a union scale and adjusted upward depending on experience • Generous benefits package including 401(k) with employer-paid contribution, low-cost health insurance for employees and their dependents, malpractice insurance, and more • Hybrid work environment requiring advocates to work in assigned office at least three days per week
