Key Responsibilities: - Manage a diverse caseload of general liability defense matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and other employment-related claims. - Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings and discovery to trial and appeal. - Communicate effectively with clients, providing strategic legal advice and keeping them informed about the progress and status of their cases. - Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents. - Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary. - Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. - Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and exceptional client service.
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. - Active membership in the California State Bar. - Minimum 4 years of experience in employment defense litigation. - Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence in legal work.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with class action lawsuits and complex litigation is highly desirable. - Trial experience is a plus. - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
