Travelers is seeking a highly motivated EPL & D&O Liability Associate Claim Counsel to join our Bond & Specialty Insurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, investigating, and resolving BSI claims, as well as providing legal advice to underwriting colleagues and non-attorney claim colleagues. You will also participate in BSI claim strategic initiatives and support underwriting marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have one to five years of relevant legal or claim handling experience, a Bachelor's Degree, and a Juris Doctorate Degree. Responsibilities:
• Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with active supervision from claims management. • Prepare and present reports for management on loss development, financial exposure, and claim strategies. • Retain, monitor, and manage outside counsel and participate in mediations, conferences, and trials. • Develop the ability to identify and coordinate recovery efforts with the Recovery Management Unit. • Refine policy interpretation and coverage analysis skills and negotiate settlements. • Support underwriting marketing efforts and stay informed on law impacting Travelers' decisions. • Obtain and maintain required adjusters' licenses. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree. • Juris Doctorate Degree and proper licensure to practice law in the jurisdiction. • One to five years of relevant legal or claim handling experience. • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. • Ability to make sound decisions and manage multiple priorities. • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Compensation Overview:
