Work type: Full Time Administrative Location: Indianapolis, IN Categories: Administrative/Professional General Description of Position: The Director of Counseling and Wellness Services (CWS) has the overall administrative and clinical responsibility for student counseling services and mental health/wellness outreach and educational programs. The Director provides and oversees the delivery of psychotherapy, clinical supervision, crisis intervention, consultation, outreach programming, and administration. The Director is a collaborative team member and contributes to the strategic goals of the institution. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Student Success. Major Responsibilities: Provides vision and leadership in establishing and monitoring the scope and proactive direction for Counseling and Wellness Services CWS), ensuring its operation is consistent with national standards of best practice. Delivers culturally-informed clinical assessments, crisis management, brief, and solution-focused individual counseling, off-campus referral, and consultations. Oversees hiring, training, supervision, and work performance of CWS staff. Serves as a member of the Incident Reporting Committee (IRC). Works collaboratively with the Asst Vice Chancellor of Student Success, Ivy Tech Security, Ombuds Office, Ivy Cares Team, and other departments to ensure coordinated responses and care. Collaborates with off-campus mental health professionals as circumstances indicate to support students' safety. Provides fiscal management of the CWS budget. Develops and monitors the budget, establishes funding priorities, identifies optional funding resources, and approves expenditures. Provides the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Student Success annual evaluation and summary of CWS operations, services, and outcomes, as well as strategies and recommendations for addressing service demands and student mental health needs. Develops and promotes the CWS as a college resource for students by communicating information about services and policies to prospective students, faculty and staff. Promotes and provides consultation and training to faculty, staff, and administrators about issues that pertain to student academic adjustment, psychological wellness, and crisis management. Provides campus-wide training and workshops with an emphasis on educating faculty, staff and students to make appropriate referrals to the CWS. Administrative: Maintains an electronic medical record for clinical notes, scheduling and developing reports. Represents the college in state-wide student mental health and counseling meetings. Liaises with the telehealth vendor and monitors the daily service request. Uses evidence-based practices to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate Mental Health and Wellness programming that covers a wide range of topics and is offered to students and, periodically, to faculty and staff. Determines and oversees clinical model for the CWS, maintains a limited caseload, provides appropriate psychological services that address a full range of needs Oversees crisis coverage for after-hours mental health emergencies. Administers psychological and other screening instruments as appropriate. Refers to appropriate outside resources for long-term therapy when appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in Counseling or closely related field from an accredited institution. Independent clinical licensure in the state of Indiana. 4-7 years post-graduate full-time clinical experience, including supervision and training of Graduate Interns. Demonstrated competence in providing clinical services to diverse, complex student mental health needs. Demonstrated competence in psychotherapy, training, psychoeducational program planning, clinical supervision, and clinical documentation. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Other Requirements: Significant higher education experience. Experience working with minoritized and diverse populations. Experience working in a community college. Suicide assessment, intervention, and prevention skills. Proficiency with short-term psychotherapy models. Knowledge of health insurance and social services in Massachusetts.
