Job Summary:

The Director of Business Development, Legal, Compliance, and Risk will work under the National Director of Channel Business Development and in collaboration with practice leadership and the Chief Business Development Officer to drive, monitor, and improve sales performance for BDO's legal channel service offerings. This includes electronic discovery, digital forensics, information governance, cyber security, data analytics, forensic accounting, and investigations. This position will also be responsible for building the sales presence and identifying new business opportunities in line with the Firm's overall business strategy.

Job Duties:

- Build and maintain relationships with attorneys and corporate professionals
- Utilize personal network to generate new business opportunities
- Create and execute business development plans
- Identify necessary activities to drive opportunities and define key account programs
- Meet regularly with Regional BD Director and practice leaders to design and implement business development plans
- Collaborate with practice leaders to understand service capabilities and market perceptions
- Distribute business development plans and progress reports to practice leaders
- Facilitate production of pursuit and pipeline reports
- Direct practice strategies and resources to improve sales effectiveness
- Negotiate pricing and delivery of services with prospects
- Provide feedback on processes, templates, and tools to National Business Development Services
- Coordinate with BDO Alliance USA and BDO International member firms

This position does not have any direct reports.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of business development/marketing experience in a professional services environment or relevant industry
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred
- Advanced Degree (JD, MBA) preferred

Experience:

- Proven track record of developing business relationships with C-Suite and referral sources
- Experience in professional services firms, preferably in accounting, cyber security, data analytics, software, or business advisory services

License/Certification:

- N/A

Software:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with client relationship management (CRM) software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Advanced knowledge of sales processes and strategies
- Ability to develop relationships with C-Suite executives and referral sources
- Strong leadership and change management skills
- Excellent business acumen and understanding of BDO's business and value proposition
- Knowledge of contact management software
- Strong project management skills
- Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% annually

Salary Information:

Individual salaries offered to candidates will vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 in the following locations:

- California
- Colorado
- Illinois
- Maryland
- Minnesota
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester
- Washington
- Washington DC
