DRG is currently seeking a Design Technician II to join our team in Sharon Center, Ohio.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Design Technician II uses CAD equipment to provide support to engineers and other Designers by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, sketches and diagrams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Utilize computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD Civil 3D/AutoCAD architecture) software to develop and revise designs and drawings. *Draw finished designs from initial sketches. *Conduct site visits to collect the needed field data and to produce sketches of existing conditions. *Able to complete an addition or remodel project from inception to completion. *Provide collaborative support to work on production jobs by assisting with drawings, preparation, file maintenance, and organization. *Meet and communicate with internal team members and external clients to review ongoing design work and provide project updates. *Utilize knowledge of engineering practices, residential construction methods, mathematics, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Problem Solving/Analysis. *Ability to make independent decisions based on sound engineering judgement and past experience. *Ability to apply knowledge to a variety of assignments. *Graduated high school and has an associate's degree in computer aided drafting and math, and/or equivalent experience and training *Structural and house design process knowledge - able to complete first and second phase drawings with limited assistance from supervisor *Able to work from meeting/field notes from Supervisor to generate preliminary plans under limited supervision *Intermediate to advanced knowledge of 3D modeling

DRG Inc, provides a full range of natural and cultural resource consulting services. Candidates must be comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 - 45 hours per week.
