**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, a biotechnology company focused on creating selective medicines for cancer patients, is seeking a Deputy General Counsel, Commercial & Healthcare Compliance. This role will report to the Chief Legal Officer and will be responsible for developing and maintaining a global healthcare compliance program and providing legal advice for the commercialization of the company's first pharmaceutical product. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a brand attorney, providing legal counsel for commercial activities and medical and promotional review. They must also have experience in developing compliance programs and policies and conducting training and audits.
Responsibilities:
• Provide business-oriented legal advice for cross-functional teams involved in the launch of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***'s first pharmaceutical product • Collaborate with legal and key stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive healthcare compliance program for the company • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies, including antikickback and false claims laws, FDA regulations, the PhRMA Code, and anti-bribery and fraud laws • Review and advise on promotional and medical materials and participate in relevant committees • Partner with multiple stakeholders to draft and negotiate contracts for commercial activities • Solicit and integrate business feedback in the development of commercial and compliance programs • Work cross-functionally to ensure compliance in all outward interactions, such as corporate communications and market research • Educate and train employees on compliance topics and foster a strong internal compliance culture • Oversee compliance with state and federal transparency and aggregate spend reporting laws • Lead investigations and resolution of compliance issues within the organization • Act as a subject matter expert for the company and provide practical guidance on commercial and compliance matters • Stay informed on legislation and policy changes that may affect the company's operations
Qualifications:
• J.D. from an accredited law school and at least 10 years of relevant experience • Must be a member in good standing of the Massachusetts bar or able to obtain a limited in-house counsel registration in Massachusetts • At least 2 years of in-house experience at a commercial biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, preferably with experience in oncology or rare diseases • Prior experience with commercial launches and knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations related to pharmaceutical product development and commercialization • Strong communication and presentation skills
