The Department of Law and Public Safety is seeking a skilled and experienced Deputy Attorney General 4 to join our team. In this role, you will work under the direction of a Unit Chief or other supervisory official, investigating and prosecuting violations of New Jersey criminal laws. This is a full-time position with some remote work opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and enforce laws and regulations - Conduct investigations and prosecutions of criminal activities - Provide legal guidance to law enforcement officers - Draft memoranda of law - Litigate cases, including case assessment, research, discovery coordination, grand-jury presentations, court appearances, pre-trial preparation, and trial practice - Serve on task forces and working groups - Cultivate and maintain relationships with law enforcement partners - Work on special projects and initiatives
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school - Admission to practice as an Attorney at Law in the State of New Jersey - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney
Salary Information:
- Starting salary will be determined by the Department based on experience - Salary offers and titles are non-negotiable and will fall within the posted range
