ROLE: DATA PROTECTION SPECIALIST, DATA PROTECTION TEAM, COMPLIANCE

LOCATION: MOLESWORTH STREET, DUBLIN 2 (HYBRID WORKING)

This role is being offered on a fixed term contract basis.

THE DP TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

*Reviewing the data protection regulatory horizon, completing regulatory gap analyses on forthcoming data protection regulation and responding to data protection-related consultations *Engaging with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) on personal data breach reporting, complaints and investigations *Maintaining the Data Regulation Universe, Data Protection Policy, Data Protection Notice and associated documents *Monitoring GDPR compliance across the group and reviewing documents that evidence Privacy by Design, including Records of Processing, Privacy Assessment Templates (PATs), and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) *Management of personal data breaches that are logged across the group, and preparing communications to the Data Protection Commission (DPC) on personal data breach reporting, complaints and investigations *Providing data protection advice to business areas across the group, including supporting regulatory and business projects across the group *Reviewing advices issued by DP Team member to ensure they are in line with data protection regulation and the Data Protection Methodology *Reviewing Third Party Management and Group Product and Proposition Templates from a data protection perspective *Producing the monthly information for the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Report and ad-hoc reporting as required *Drafting second line opinion papers and providing data protection input into "One Risk" papers *Attending various fora across the group as a representative of the Data Protection Team and delegate of the Group DPO *Acting as a point of escalation for the Group Privacy Office (GPO) *Maintaining the Data Protection Team Methodology and Manual *Supervising the Data Protection mailboxes (DPO, DP Advice, DP Report) 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

*Constructively engage with key business relationships to ensure that business units are aware of new and existing data protection regulations impacting the business and developments in the regulatory environment. *Provide relevant, consistent and timely risk appropriate advice and support to the business *Attend key milestones of business and regulatory projects and provide compliance advice *Review of new products, propositions and product reviews *Review of Third Party Management risk assessment templates *Represent Compliance function at governance forums *Delivery of training to business on data protection regulatory requirements *Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of AIB processes and organisational structure *Support and embed a strong risk culture at all times throughout the organisation

YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU CAN/HAVE:

*Expertise in data protection regulations, directives, standards and guidelines. *Understanding and experience of the Banking (preferred) or Financial Services sector and banking products. *Experience of Compliance and Risk Management in the Banking (preferred) or Financial Services sector and associated risks, clear understanding and knowledge of risk management methodologies. *Minimum of five years' experience of data protection, preferably in a Compliance, Risk or Assurance role. *Experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders and regulators including the Data Protection Commission. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
