Job Description
Under the leadership of the Vice President, Perioperative Services, the Director of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for operating room (OR) procurement and inventory management processes, and controls for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (MMC). Specific areas of responsibility include OR materials procurement, daily inventory management, ordering, receiving, and physical access and security. In addition, the Director will focus on standardization of processes across all MMC operating rooms through development of best practices, education of local Materials Managers and Handlers, and development of meaningful key performance indicators to track progress.
Candidate will have oversight of materials management process, including ongoing perpetual inventory and consignment planning. Leads the coordination of the Surgical Value Analysis Steering Committee and introduction of Physician preference items (PPI) within Perioperative Services. Manages essential performance improvement initiatives by collaborating closely with surgeons and OR nursing leadership for optimal utilization of consumable patient care items used in surgery. Key liaison with procurement services as well as vendor relations for Operating Room. Collaborates closely with the Perioperative Services Associate Director of Business and Clinical Affairs to optimize billing of chargeable supplies. Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance as pertains to the above responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• MBA preferred. Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in health care Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Contracting, or Supply Chain Management.
Prior experience in utilizing and maintaining accuracy of computer supply and inventory management systems.
Knowledge of Par Assist, PYXIS, or HBOC materials management system (Preferred Certifications (Not required).
Certification Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management: Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) (Preferred Certifications (Not required).
Certification Association for Supply Chain Management: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) (Preferred Certifications (Not required)
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (SSGB, SSBB) (Preferred Certifications (Not required)
• Experience in managing complex multi-million-dollar Perioperative Services supply chain is strongly preferred.
• Experience in data analysis, statistics along with continuous process improvement experience is preferred.
• Ability to generate project plans to support implementation activities and project management experience helpful.
• Ability to observe, analyze and interpret general, technical and clinical data (verbal and written).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities while under pressure.
• Personal characteristics and management style that emphasize teamwork, communication, collegiality, flexibility, trust and patience
• Ability to represent **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** and the Perioperative Services Department in a professional manner.
SKILLS:
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project.
Preferably proficient with SAP and Infor Procurement / Supply Chain Suites, Materials Management, and Item Master functionality.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with clinicians, administrative and front-line associates, vendors.
Excellent communication and written skills.
