Law firm Cooley is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Cyber/Data/Privacy (c/d/p) practice group. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of our diverse and growing team of over 30 full-time attorneys in the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. We are looking for candidates who excel in litigation and/or regulatory enforcement investigations involving privacy and data security matters. This position is available in our New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, DC offices.
At Cooley, we pride ourselves on our award-winning c/d/p litigation and investigations practice. Our ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience with regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues, such as State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies. Additionally, we are looking for candidates who are well-versed in defending data privacy and security class actions, including Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, and claims involving allegedly unfair and deceptive trade practices, and data breach class actions.
We are seeking candidates with a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects. A general understanding of technology is also required for this position.
The expected annual pay range for this position is $420,000 . Final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
