Job Description: - Join the Coverage team and handle a diverse caseload of Professional, Casualty and Property claims involving coverage - Identify, evaluate, and analyze coverage issues - Draft comprehensive coverage and denial letters - Supervise outside coverage counsel - Negotiate settlements within designated authority level - Process and pay claims and expense invoices - Conduct legal research and provide coverage opinions - Stay up-to-date on insurance coverage case law and trends - Develop and present training programs - Assist in drafting policy language - Travel as necessary - Other duties as assigned
Other Duties and Responsibilities: - Complete special projects - Attend educational seminars and conferences - Enroll and complete continuing education programs
Minimum Job Requirements: - Juris Doctorate - 3-7 years of claims handling experience - Strong coverage background, claims counsel experience, and/or relevant legal and/or litigation experience - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment - Good working knowledge of Westlaw
Working Conditions: Occasional overnight travel
