Job Description:
- In-house Counsel for Patent Prosecution group at AbbVie - Develop and implement intellectual property strategies for products and product candidates - Support AbbVie's Immunology products - Based in North Chicago, IL or Waltham, MA offices with hybrid work model - Provide legal advice and counsel to cross-functional R&D and business teams - Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide - Challenge and defend patents in post-grant proceedings - Conduct prior art searches, analyze third-party patent positions, and conduct due diligence for business development
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school - State bar admission and USPTO registration - 3 years of experience practicing patent law at law firm and/or life sciences company - Technical background in pharmaceutical patent prosecution - Strong legal, analytical, communication, collaboration, and project management skills
Compensation and Benefits:
- Comprehensive package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) - Eligible for short-term and long-term incentive programs - Salary range of $133,500 - $253,500 based on job grade and location - Additional compensation may be available at company's discretion
