Compensation Overview:
- Annual base salary range is a nationwide market range - Actual salary determined by factors such as role scope, complexity, and location - Eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards
Salary Range: $101,300.00 - $167,000.00

Opportunity Overview:
- Proactive case handling with a focus on delivering optimal results for Travelers' insured customers - Use your legal expertise and litigation skills to handle a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity - National legal organization committed to professional development with a local focus - Position yourself as a strong legal advocate and valued business partner
Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply effective trial skills and techniques - Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong persuasive writing and presentation skills - Supervise research projects and delegate tasks to Associate Counsel and paralegals - Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents - Attend court events and appointments independently - Learn and understand Claim and client expectations to provide recommendations and case analysis on file-handling strategies - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and business partners - Effectively utilize support staff, technology, and case management system - Adhere to best practices in file handling - Travel as required - Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients - Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 3 years of prior litigation practice or prior legal experience - Exposure to insurance litigation is desirable - Track record of trial skills and techniques - Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate position - Analytical and appreciates delivering high-quality legal work - Collaborative and committed to professional development - Continues to develop technical skills with a goal of handling high complexity/exposure cases - Strong research and negotiation skills - Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities - Sense of urgency and responsiveness
Must-Haves:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school - Minimum of one year of litigation practice or prior legal experience - Active license in good standing to practice law in required state(s) - Valid driver's license depending on location
