Position Summary:
- Benesch is seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant for its Cleveland office with hybrid work from home flexibility. - This role is perfect for a Legal Assistant who wants to take on complex responsibilities and work with a cutting-edge group of attorneys. - The Legal Assistant will provide support to assigned attorneys, coordinate travel and other support needs, and contribute to the growth of the department.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, revise, redline, and proofread various corporate documents. - Assist with pre-closing documents, corporate formation and dissolution, and UCC financing. - Maintain corporate record books and handle filing procedures. - Administer the Shareholders Service Group portal. - Create and maintain client and administrative files. - Utilize workflow management system to manage assignments and maintain an organized workload. - Schedule appointments and maintain attorney's calendar. - Enter and release attorney's billable time and review proformas for billing. - Perform conflict checks, open/close client matters, and prepare engagement letters. - Monitor case deadlines and coordinate with Docket Department. - Coordinate travel arrangements and track expenses. - Communicate professionally with internal and external clients to provide excellent customer service.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Proactively participate as a member of the practice group support coverage team. - Stay current in the use of firm systems and practices. - May require overtime or weekend hours. - Perform additional office support duties as assigned/requested.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 3 years of corporate experience required. - Must be able to handle multiple priorities, work well with others, and have excellent communication skills. - Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office and PDF software. - Experience with various legal software is a plus. - Must possess an excellent customer service attitude.
