Corporate Counsel - Legal Support for Solar PV Solutions Company
Location: Cartersville, GA, United States Location Type: On-site
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support for Hanwha Qcells, a leading solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions company. This role is responsible for managing legal matters and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate and 7-10 years of in-house counsel experience, with a background in the solar industry or energy sector preferred. This position offers career advancement and the opportunity to work with senior management in a dynamic international company.
Responsibilities: - Provide legal support and guidance to business team and management on various legal issues - Review and negotiate supplier and customer agreements - Oversee compliance department, including trade compliance - Develop corporate compliance policies and ensure adherence to regulations - Draft legal documents and provide supervision to outside lawyers - Stay up to date on changes to relevant regulations - Protect company against legal risks, penalties, and investigations
Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school and active license to practice law in Georgia - 7-10 years of in-house counsel experience, with 2-3 years at a law firm preferred - Experience in the solar industry or energy sector is a plus - Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide practical legal advice - Experience in analyzing, reviewing, and drafting complex contracts - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Attention to detail and strategic thinking abilities - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization - Legal and moral integrity - Authoritative with strong managerial and negotiation skills - Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Ability to translate complex legal issues into plain language communications - Self-motivated and able to work independently - Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment
