Corporate Counsel- Labor Relations Salary: Competitive Experience: 3 years Job Location: Ft. Myers, FL
Alta Resources, a leading provider of customer service and business process outsourcing solutions, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join their team. This position will be responsible for managing all legal affairs of the company and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
In this role, the Corporate Counsel will report to the Chief Financial Officer and provide legal advice to management on a variety of topics including contract drafting and negotiations, labor law, partnerships, international ventures, and corporate finance. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate and be a licensed attorney with at least 3 years of experience in a corporate legal services or law firm setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage legal budget and outside legal counsel - Oversee corporate governance for all entities within the company's legal structure - Collaborate with management to develop defense strategies - Research and evaluate risk factors for business decisions and operations - Provide proactive legal advice on potential issues - Communicate and negotiate with external parties - Draft and review agreements, contracts, and other legal documents - Ensure compliance with global data privacy laws and other regulations - Support Human Resources with labor and employment law advisement - Participate in litigation and develop policies and procedures - Manage intellectual property portfolio - Regularly review and approve all contracts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university - Master of Arts or BS in Business Administration preferred - Juris Doctorate and licensed attorney required - 3 years of experience in corporate legal services or law firm setting - Excellent knowledge of corporate law and procedures - Strong understanding of external influences on corporations - Ability to create legal strategies and analyze situations - High level of ethics and integrity - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others - Advanced analytical abilities - Knowledge of effective corporate compliance and privacy programs - Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust
