Job Description: - Provide guidance on legal matters and advise on the legal implications of consumer financial regulatory matters - Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws and regulations - Document legal standards for use by business units and Compliance department - Review contracts with third party vendors - Support Compliance-related initiatives - Research and develop solutions to complex legal questions - Deliver counsel to various business units - Maintain electronic records and files - Foster a collaborative culture and work closely with other associates and management - Perform additional assignments and special projects as needed
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School - Active member in good standing of a state bar - Minimum of 1 year experience as a practicing attorney - Minimum of 2 years' experience in the financial industry preferred - Strong ethics and integrity - Experience managing outside legal resources - Self-motivated with strong initiative and problem-solving skills - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills - Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new applications quickly - Commitment to company values and competencies - Ability to manage multiple priorities and think strategically
Employment Requirements: - Full-time position - Up to 10% travel required - Ability to remain stationary, operate a computer, and communicate effectively throughout the workday
