Role and Responsibilities: - Seeking a litigation associate to join the Construction Practice Group in Charleston, SC - 1 to 4 years of experience preferred - Experience in complex litigation, including attending hearings, drafting pleadings, arguing motions, and handling discovery - Construction law experience beneficial but not required - Must be currently licensed in South Carolina - Strong communication, research, and writing skills required - Full-time position with competitive salary and benefits package
About the Construction Practice Group: - Represents all participants in the construction field, with a focus on regional and national homebuilders, owners, developers, and general contractors - Provides consultation and assistance in the negotiation, preparation, and review of construction contracts - Offers preventative counseling and advice to avoid costly disputes and litigation on issues such as payment and contractor claims, scheduling and delays, defective construction and warranty obligations, alleged design defects, liens, and building codes and regulations - Goal is to resolve disputes quickly and inexpensively with the best results for clients - Utilizes neutral mediation, arbitration, and litigation to resolve disputes - Represents clients in both federal and state courts - Handles disputes on private and public construction projects throughout the United States and internationally
