Summary: Global Technical Services, LLC (GTS), has an immediate opening for a CADD Technician in Huntsville, Alabama. Using computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment, drafts designs and converts engineers' and technicians' designs into working computer documents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Utilizing computer software creating drawings and specifications based on equations, calculations and written instructions provided by designers and engineers Converts sketches or specifications of the project into detailed CAD drawings CAD drawings will be developed using AutoCAD 2014 and/or Bentley MicroStation V8i. NON - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION Required (Minimum) Qualifications: Associates degree in CAD or drafting required Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in computer applications relating to drafting and design Proficient in the latest AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Microsoft Office and Windows applications Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance Pay is commensurate with education and experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in the latest AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Microsoft Office and Windows applications Ability to read and understand construction plans Understanding units of measurement and knowledge in basic algebra and geometry Must have high aptitude and problem solving abilities Strong basic computer skills Good communication and organization skills Maintain a high level of productivity of assignments Mature and reliable work ethic PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The ability to properly use personnel protective equipment (PPE) including the required use at all times of hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, and hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks of electrical shock and vibration.
