Compliance & Assurance is an independent, second line of defence function within the Risk function. An opportunity now exists for a Compliance Manager within the Upstream & Regulatory Oversight Team, in Group Compliance.
SUMMARY OF THE TEAM:
The primary objectives of the Upstream and Regulatory Oversight Team are:
*Scan and track the Upstream Regulatory Horizon for emerging regulation and legislation within the Regulatory Compliance Universe. *Provide initial impact assessments on consultation papers and upstream regulation within the scope of the Regulatory Compliance Universe. *Inform the Group of regulatory changes and the subsequent impacts to the relevant Business Areas. *Report the Regulatory Horizon to various risk fora, the CEO and the Board directly through Board Risk Committee (BRC) on a quarterly basis. *Provide pro-active review and challenge of regulatory impact assessments prepared by the 1st line Business Areas. *Provide comprehensive identification, challenge of interpretation and assessment of Regulatory Compliance risk *Instil ownership of Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk within the 1st line Business Areas through advice, targeted training and awareness initiatives. *Maintain the Regulatory Compliance Universe including the Regulatory Compliance Obligations Register.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN:
*Constructively engage with key business areas to ensure that business units are aware of new and existing regulations impacting the business and are aware of developments in the regulatory environment. *Represent Regulatory Compliance on various Regulatory Change Programmes providing robust review and challenge of proposals from the 1st line Business Areas. *Complete Horizon scanning activities to identify, track, monitor, analyse and communicate new or enhanced regulatory compliance obligations to impacted stakeholders. *Update and maintain the Regulatory Compliance Obligations Register to reflect changes in regulation, where applicable. *Assist with the identification, interpretation and analysis of existing and upstream regulation and legislation within the scope of the Regulatory Compliance Universe, which may impact on the Group and its subsidiaries. *Coordinate and compile the Quarterly Regulatory Horizon and Consultation Paper update for Group reporting. *Coordinate, update and maintain the Group's register of BPFI working group nominees. *Coordinate Regulatory Compliance sponsorship identification process for upcoming regulations. *Provide training to 1st line business areas on regulatory requirements where applicable *Support and embed a strong risk culture at all times throughout the organisation

YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU CAN/HAVE:
*A minimum of 8 years compliance or regulatory experience within a Financial Services environment (Payments, Banking, Insurance), as part of a Financial Services/Banking Institution, or in an advisory, law or business consulting capacity. Relevant Professional qualification would be advantageous. *Strong technical knowledge in regulation, regulatory strategy and Financial Regulator rules and guidance procedures, existing and new, such as Prudential Regulation, the EU regulatory framework including CRR and CRD, Consumer Protection, Anti-Money Laundering, Conduct Risk, and Risk Framework methodologies. *A detailed understanding of aspects of current and upcoming regulation with an ability to complete initial regulatory impact assessments on new and amending upstream regulation and develop regulatory gap analysis. *Experience in providing review and challenge of senior stakeholders within the Financial Services Environment. *Highly motivated, with a proven ability to work on own initiative within a challenging and dynamic work environment, with excellent communication skills (both spoken and written), interpersonal skills and people skills.
