The Compliance Audit Manager job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Provides on-going strategic direction and guidance related to the compliance audit functions. *Leads the compliance auditors in performing activities to prevent, detect and correct organizational integrity and compliance risk specifically related to documentation, coding and revenue cycle. *Oversees the External Government Audit program. Ensures government pre- and post-payment revenue cycle audits are managed, coordinated and responded to in a timely and effective manner. Analyzes audit experiences to identify key themes, trends and risks and in collaboration with subject matter experts resolves adverse audit finding themes and trends. *Coordinates with Department leadership and key stakeholders in the development and implementation of the system Organizational Integrity & Compliance Program. As assigned, actively participates in the Program's strategic development, planning and associated activities. *Develops and maintains compliance program standards, policies, forms, notices and associated materials to reflect organizational processes and well as compliance with applicable laws and regulations. *Participates in the compliance risk assessment process to identify, prioritize and evaluate integrity/compliance risks. Tracks, trends and reports key findings to identify and address areas of risk. *Leads and participates in activities to prevent and pro-actively manage compliance concerns with focus on documentation, coding and revenue-cycle related risks. *Receives, leads the investigation and responds to assigned compliance questions and concerns raised. Develops, implements and/or monitors mitigation plans resulting from compliance events/risks. Ensures that the sanctions program is applied in a proportionate and consistent manner. As assigned, responds to regulatory inquiries for compliance matters. *Develops integrity and compliance awareness and training initiatives and promotes such awareness throughout the organization. *Performs documentation, coding and revenue-cycle related compliance audits to determine if the organization is complying with its policies, procedures and applicable regulatory standards. Collaborates with impacted parties to develop and implement action plans to address audit findings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of health care compliance experience or revenue cycle in a complex healthcare system or setting with at least 3 years in a management/leadership role or demonstrated progressive growth. Coding experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) required upon hire or within 1 year of date of hire.
OTHER: Excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated knowledge of business practices, with ability to work with minimal supervision, and adapt quickly to change. Skilled in use of personal computers to aid productivity and enhance output.
