ROLE: COMPLIANCE ADVISORY RISK ANALYST - CONDUCT OF BUSINESS ADVISORY
LOCATION: Ann Street, Belfast with hybrid remote working
This role is being offered on a permanent basis.
Are you interested in playing a lead role in enabling and supporting business areas to perform their duties in a compliant and effective control environment within a portfolio that includes advising on mortgage distribution?
The role is required to provide support to business areas and internal stakeholders on mortgage regulation matters, including providing advice, critically assessing regulatory solutions and contributing towards project delivery.
The role is key to our second line Compliance function.
UK Regulatory Compliance is an independent, second line of defence function, established within Risk and Assurance, and reports to the UK Chief Risk Officer. The team equips business areas to perform their duties in a compliant manner and to consider their activities in terms of appropriate customer outcomes, providing oversight and support on conduct of business regulation.
We also monitor the regulatory horizon, identifying and communicating new and amended regulations within the Regulatory Compliance universe to relevant business areas within AIB.
The role of UK Regulatory Compliance continues to evolve in line with the changing business model for AIB UK and the increasing demands of the UK regulators.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN:
*Constructively engage with key business areas to provide technical support and challenge on UK mortgage conduct of business regulation and ensure that business areas are aware of regulatory developments which impact AIB; *Identify mortgage regulation risks and communicate these clearly and concisely to impacted business areas; *Interpret and analyse regulatory developments and key current issues facing AIB UK and have a proven ability to articulate these in reports/presentations with senior stakeholders; *Support business areas in addressing any regulatory breaches/issues that are identified and contribute towards reporting and remediation plans; *Represent UK Regulatory Compliance at relevant fora, provide challenge in a collaborative and constructive manner and contribute towards the effective governance of regulatory issues and ensure good customer outcomes are achieved; *Support AIB UK in the delivery of it's strategic objectives in a compliant manner; *Represent UK Compliance on regulatory projects as required; *Help maintain AIB UK's data protection/privacy compliance by engaging with business areas as required; *Support and embed a strong risk culture at all times; *Develop and deliver training to business areas on regulatory and conduct risks as required; *Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AIB UK's processes and organisational structure; *Assist, as required, colleagues in the Assurance team with scoping reviews, and guidance and advice on the regulatory impacts of any potential findings.

YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU CAN/HAVE:
*A minimum of three years compliance or regulatory experience within a Financial Services environment [Banking, Payments, Insurance, Capital Markets etc.], or in an advisory, transformation, change, law or business consulting capacity. Relevant professional qualification would be advantageous. *Strong technical knowledge in UK mortgage regulation, regulatory strategy and financial regulator rules and guidance [existing and planned], such as MCOBs, and the UK Regulatory framework/environment. *A detailed understanding of aspects of current and upcoming UK conduct of business regulation with an ability to complete regulatory impact assessments on new and amending upstream regulation and develop regulatory gap analysis. *Highly motivated, with a proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team, with attention to detail, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organisation. *Manage a variety of issues, respond to fast-paced deadlines and take responsibility for the ownership and completion of tasks to a high standard.
