Complex Claims Technical Specialist
Overview:

Use your skills and experience to make a significant impact in a highly technical and complex claims environment. Report to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
Responsibilities:
Adjudicate highly complex claims with the highest authority limits on assignments, requiring a deep knowledge of claims adjudication. Oversee defense panelists and conduct file reviews to ensure accuracy. Provide technical guidance in setting claim reserves and identify resources to assist in case resolution. Negotiate settlement packages and ensure timely resolution of cases. Investigate and analyze claims forms, policies, and endorsements to determine coverage. Manage claims in litigation and attend mediations and settlements. Process mail and complete correspondence with various parties. Prioritize workload and manage diary to ensure timely resolution. Demonstrate a passion for strong claim management and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school. Minimum of 7 years' experience adjudicating claims with exposure of $100,000 or more. Good business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company operates. Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Strong negotiation and strategic skills. Customer-focused with effective time management abilities. Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software. Licensed Claims Examiner (based on state) or ability to obtain license within 120 days.
Physical Demands:
This role operates in a standard office environment. Requires the use of a PC and other related office equipment.
