Overview: Johnston Allison Hord Law Firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Our CREPG is made up of 11 attorneys who specialize in helping clients build their businesses, develop real estate portfolios, and manage commercial developments and communities. We are looking for a candidate with at least 4 years of experience, but are open to considering those with less experience as well.
Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Attorney
Location: Charlotte, NC (Remote work options available)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Experience: - Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial real estate law preferred - Experience in two or more of the following areas is preferred but not required: - Representing clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, and development - Representing clients with regard to commercial leases, subleases, easements, declarations, condominiums, and other title matters - Negotiating commercial loan terms and documents - Advising clients on condemnation, rezoning, and land use - Advising clients on 1031 exchange, opportunity zone, and other tax issues - Joint venture document drafting and similar capabilities - Candidates with strong residential real estate experience, including title review and negotiation of title commitments, will also be considered - Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina - Licensure to practice law in South Carolina is a plus
Responsibilities: - Provide legal counsel to clients in all aspects of commercial real estate matters - Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as contracts, leases, and agreements - Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and other legal proceedings - Advise clients on tax implications and other financial aspects of real estate transactions - Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations in the commercial real estate industry
Qualifications: - Must be a licensed attorney in North Carolina - Strong communication and negotiation skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Proficient in legal research and writing
