The Real Estate Team
Our Real Estate Team is a highly regarded and collaborative group, consisting of thirteen partners and approximately 30 fee earners. The team handles a wide range of commercial, residential, rural, real estate litigation, and construction matters for a diverse client base that includes entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals, family offices, luxury brands, property companies, and more. We also work with non-profit institutions such as Great Ormond St Children's Charity and the Tate Gallery, as well as high-profile brands like Soho House, MaxMara, and Aston Martin Racing. The team often collaborates with other practice areas and our overseas offices, providing a diverse and challenging practice for our lawyers.
The Role
As a Commercial Real Estate Associate, you will work within the Commercial Group of our London Real Estate Team, handling a variety of commercial property matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on acquisitions, disposals, and lettings for a diverse range of clients, including developers, investors, companies, and private individuals. - Handling complex development projects, including residential, industrial, retail, and mixed-use developments. - Negotiating promotion and option agreements for development land. - Assisting with bank lending and re-financing matters. - Advising on portfolio acquisitions, hotel owner and operator work, and landlord and tenant asset management matters. - Handling corporate property acquisitions.
Key Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial real estate. - A strong work ethic and a forward-thinking mindset. - A solid understanding of land law and general property matters, with a focus on commercial real estate. - The ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-departmental team. - A desire and ability to contribute to the firm's business development initiatives. - Strong academic credentials and experience training in a well-regarded real estate department. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Familiarity with technology, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Docusign.
The Essentials
- This is a permanent, full-time position. - The role will be based in our London office. - We offer a six-month probation period and a 12-week notice period. - We have a hybrid working model, allowing for a mix of office and remote work. - We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a bonus based on a 1400 chargeable hour target.
