Join the dynamic team at USLI as a Claims Examiner or Associate Claims Examiner in Boise, ID. In this role, you will play a critical part in evaluating coverage, liability, and damages for each unique claim. You’ll collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders to effectively investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations into claims, including liability and damages assessment, witness interviews, scene inspections, and evidence collection. - Apply statutory and case law to evaluate liability exposure and ensure joint tortfeasors contribute their fair share. - Proactively manage claim files, negotiate settlements directly with claimants or attorneys, oversee defense counsel, and ensure effective litigation management. - Prepare comprehensive reserve authority requests, reinsurance reports, serious loss reports, and coverage position letters. - Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and actuarial teams to maintain healthy products.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of relevant experience for Associate Claim Examiner. - 7 years of relevant experience for Claims Examiner. - Relevant roles include examiner, adjuster, paralegal, attorney/lawyer, or other transferable experience. - Multi-jurisdictional knowledge, liability experience, and advanced degrees (e.g., JD) are a plus.
Salary Information:
- Claims Examiner: $50,000 - $70,000 per year - Associate Claims Examiner: $40,000 - $60,000 per year
