Manning Kass is a highly respected national civil litigation defense firm with over 160 attorneys across seven offices, including major economic hubs like New York and Los Angeles. Our Landlord/Tenant/Habitability Team is seeking a highly motivated Civil Litigation Associate (Habitability) to join our team at our Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, or San Diego office.
As a Civil Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work remotely for a portion of your workweek, experiencing the freedom and flexibility of working from anywhere. Our advanced infrastructure enables seamless communication, collaboration, and access to resources, making remote work a seamless and efficient process.
At Manning Kass, every case and client matters. Our team handles wrongful eviction defense, commercial and residential unlawful detainer proceedings, and matters involving Rent Stabilization Ordinance. We represent landlords and property management companies in all aspects of building safety and health code issues in rental properties.
As a Civil Litigation Associate, you will work closely with lead attorneys daily, engaging in all phases of litigation. This includes attending court hearings, participating in site inspections, taking and defending depositions, and evaluating, analyzing, and executing litigation strategies. To be considered for this role, you must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the California State Bar in good standing. We prefer candidates with demonstrated experience in civil litigation, preferably within a law firm setting. Excellent writing and communication skills, a detail-oriented approach to case analysis, and excellent time management skills are essential for success in this role.
