- The Child Support Legal Assistant I position is responsible for establishing child and medical support orders and enforcing child, medical, and spousal support orders. - This job posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies and will be used for ongoing recruitment. - The ideal candidate has experience in initiating the establishment of legal and non-legal child support agreements and preparing legal documents for court hearings. - The minimum qualification for this position is a High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in legal research or legal document preparation, accounting, finance, or social health, or human service program development or delivery and/or clerical experience in a Child Support Office. - Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results. - The working conditions for this position include an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage, and the possibility of testifying in court hearings. - The organization, department, and division for this position are Health Care Authority, Child Support Services Division (CSSD), and Farmington, New Mexico. - This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to. - The salary for this position is $19.82 - $31.71 Hourly, $41,218 - $65,949 Annually, and the position is in Pay Band 60. - The vision of the organization is for every New Mexican to have access to affordable health care coverage through a coordinated and seamless health care system. - The mission of the organization is to ensure that New Mexicans attain their highest level of health by providing whole-person, cost-effective, accessible, and high-quality health care and safety-net services. - The goals of the organization are to leverage purchasing power and partnerships to create innovative policies and models of comprehensive health care coverage, achieve health equity, implement innovative technology and data-driven decision-making, and build the best team in state government. - The customers for this position include parties of child support cases, Child Support Services Division (CSSD) management, and CSSD Attorneys.
