The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and experience in corporate and commercial litigation. They should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members. They should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of business litigation matters from inception to resolution. - Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex issues related to business disputes. - Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents. - Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings. - Take and defend depositions, as well as prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial testimony. - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates and legal staff as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. - Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing with no record of discipline. - 3-5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on business litigation. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines. - High level of professionalism and ethical standards. - Strong written and critical thinking skills. - E-discovery competence. - In-office position in Costa Mesa, CA.
Compensation:
