Business Intelligence Analyst Job Summary:
- Join a leading global law firm, Gibson Dunn, as a Business Intelligence Analyst - Work with exceptional teams to craft legal strategies for complex and high-stakes matters - Based in California, New York, or Washington D.C. - Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and providing tailored solutions to support decision making - Focus on data analysis and reporting, data visualization, process improvement, financial performance, data integrity and management, and optimizing business processes - Report to Associate Director, Financial Systems
Responsibilities:
- Extract and manipulate large volumes of data from multiple sources for financial analysis - Present data findings in a clear and understandable way to non-technical stakeholders - Work cross-functionally with different teams to understand data needs and provide timely insights - Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to generate actionable insights - Ensure data accuracy and integrity through data validation and cleansing - Manage financial data sources and maintain data documentation - Identify areas of inefficiency or potential risk and recommend improvements
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Data Science, or related field - 2-4 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or Data Analyst, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment - Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) - Strong understanding of business processes in law firms - Experience with legal software systems (e.g., time and billing systems, matter management software) preferred - Familiarity with predictive analytics and machine learning techniques a plus
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual compensation range of $100-130k, depending on qualifications and operational considerations - Health care, retirement benefits, paid days off (sick time and vacation time), parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and performance-based bonuses offered
