Position Overview:

- The Business Development Specialist will serve as a primary contact for Litigation, Labor & Employment, and Tax practices.
- This hybrid role reports to the Director of Client Development and provides high-level support to the Business Development team.
- The role requires coordination of marketing and business development opportunities, and implementation of initiatives to support select practice group plans.
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, liberal arts, or a related field, and 4-6 years of business development and/or marketing experience in a professional services environment, preferably a law firm.
- Strong attention to detail, relationship-building skills, and a client service-oriented mindset are essential for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare pitch materials, including customized experience lists.
- Track pitch and proposal activity, including follow-up with marketing and business development personnel and attorneys to determine and document results and best practices.
- Maintain library of collateral materials and organizational system for drafts and completed proposals and pitches.
- Assist with matter/deal collection and follow-up to ensure complete information.
- Support various marketing-related activities, such as copywriting and editing, intranet content, website bio updates, etc.
- Research, analyze, and identify marketing and business development opportunities in key industry sectors and with target clients.
- Assist with firm cross-selling initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Client Development to review client engagement data and identify trends and insights.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and analytical skills.
- Detail-focused with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to anticipate needs and exercise sound judgment.
- Outstanding project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize deadlines, stay poised under pressure, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, analyze situations, and suggest appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the firm and the Business Development and Marketing Department.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to learn about clients and practices, and stay up to date on industry trends.
- Ability to maintain professional standards of confidentiality, tact, and discretion.
- Occasional travel to all offices will be required.

Compensation:

- Allen Matkins offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
- The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year.
- The actual salary offered will depend on factors such as relevant experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and location.
- The base salary range displayed on the job posting is an estimate for new hires and is subject to change at any time based on internal and external business factors.
