Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP) is seeking a skilled and passionate attorney to join our team in providing civil legal services in our Bristol office located in Bucks County. LASP serves individuals with low incomes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. This position will primarily focus on representing clients in landlord and tenant cases, including private residential rental issues, subsidized and public housing, and family law. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on other LASP practice areas such as bankruptcy, consumer, expungements, and public benefits, as assigned. This is a full-time position and our staff currently work on a hybrid basis, with a combination of in-office and remote work.
As a Staff Attorney at LASP, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients. You will be responsible for interviewing clients, conducting legal research, providing advice and counsel, preparing legal documents, developing case strategies, representing clients in court, and participating in community education and outreach efforts. In addition, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge through training, educational opportunities, and participation in our program-wide affinity groups and task forces.
Required qualifications for this position include a license to practice law in Pennsylvania or admission in another jurisdiction and eligibility for admission to Pennsylvania. At least two years of experience as a lawyer is preferred, along with proficiency in word processing, Outlook products, case management software, and online legal research tools. We are looking for someone with a passionate commitment to public interest law and serving low-income individuals and vulnerable populations, as well as strong written and oral advocacy and organizational skills. The successful candidate must also be willing to take on complex and challenging cases and develop creative strategies to assist clients.
LASP offers a competitive salary, starting at $58,000, but commensurate with experience.
