Law Firm Seeking Experienced Billing Specialist in Morristown, NJ
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Job Title: Billing Specialist Experience: Minimum of 4 years of legal billing experience
Overview: As a Billing Specialist at our law firm, you will be responsible for completing accurate and timely billing tasks in accordance with our firm and client billing policies. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Main Responsibilities: - Respond to general billing inquiries from management, staff, attorneys, and clients in a timely manner - Review aged unbilled WIP and provide status updates to the Billing Supervisor/Director - Prepare detailed expense back-up for invoices - Process invoices using our internal Paperless Proforma application for specific attorneys - Review newly opened matters for clients of assigned attorneys to determine if e-billing is available - Ensure timely submission of invoices and address any reductions or rejections immediately - Provide updates on invoice status to the Billing Supervisor/Director
Additional Functions: - Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications: - High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred - Minimum of 4 years of legal billing experience - Experience with 3E, BillBlast, and electronic billing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Highly organized and able to manage multiple assignments from attorneys - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively - Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment - Experience working in a high-pressure environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands: This is a full-time, office-based position that requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and fax machines. The physical requirements include lifting up to 10 pounds and occasional standing and walking.
Visual Acuity: Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as data analysis, transcribing, and computer work.
