Department: Legal Department Job Title: Attorney I or II Experience: 3 years of civil litigation or related work experience Location: Kansas City, Kansas Salary: $31.06- $42.40/hr
The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas is currently seeking an Attorney I or II to join their Legal Department. This full-time position is located at City Hall and requires the applicant to be a resident of Wyandotte County or willing to relocate within 12 months of hire. The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctorate in Law and a license to practice in the State of Kansas.
Responsibilities: - Provide legal opinions for elected officials, County Administrator, and UG and BPU staff - Handle all litigation filed against or on behalf of the entities - Review and prepare contracts, policies, ordinances, and resolutions - Represent the organization in lawsuits, claims, and tax appeal cases - Conduct delinquent tax sales and acquire property through eminent domain - Prosecute violations of city ordinances in Municipal Court - Support Municipal Court Prosecutors in their duties
Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate in Law - 3 years of civil litigation or related work experience - License to practice law in the State of Kansas
Salary: The salary range for this position is $31.06- $42.40/hr.
