The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team as an Assistant Attorney General in the Public Interest division's Public Utilities Bureau. In this role, you will represent the people of Illinois in matters related to public utilities, including electricity and natural gas, water, and telecommunications services. Our main objective is to protect ratepayers from policies and decisions that could negatively impact consumers.
As an Assistant Attorney General in the Public Utilities Bureau, you will be responsible for advocating for consumer rights in the regulation of utility rates and services. This will involve applying the Public Utilities Act, participating in administrative proceedings before the Illinois Commerce Commission, and advocating for state legislative initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to work on federal energy regulation, develop policies on energy, water, and communications issues, and evaluate and propose state legislative initiatives. This role requires a strong dedication to consumer advocacy and a willingness to promote regulatory policies on behalf of consumers.
We are looking for candidates who are licensed in Illinois and have a strong commitment to public service. While a background in public utilities or a comparable highly regulated field is helpful, we value dedication to consumer advocacy above all else.
