Salary Information: Salary for this position varies based on experience and qualifications. However, the average salary for an Associate/Of Counsel Attorney in the United States is around $120,000 per year.
Experience Information: A Juris Doctorate Degree and membership in the Kansas and Missouri State Bar Associations are required for this position. Previous experience in litigation matters is also necessary.
Law Firm: The law firm is currently seeking a highly qualified Associate/Of Counsel Attorney to join our team in Lenexa, KS. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the firm.
Department: The Associate/Of Counsel Attorney will work within the Litigation department of the law firm. This team is comprised of experienced attorneys who handle a variety of complex cases for our clients.
Position Summary: As an Associate/Of Counsel Attorney at our law firm, you will work closely with senior attorneys and clients to provide top-notch legal services. Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research, drafting documents, consulting with clients, and assisting with trial preparation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain membership in the Kansas and Missouri State Bar Associations and complete all required Continuing Legal Education requirements on an annual basis. - Follow ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State of Kansas and Missouri and comply with all requirements of the firm's professional liability insurer. - Perform quality work on a timely basis and provide outstanding client service. - Research and analyze legal issues. - Draft documents such as briefs and contracts. - Advise and communicate regularly with clients regarding the status of their matter. - Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients. - Prepare for and attend trials. - Collaborate with senior attorneys to strategize complex cases, provide input on legal strategies, and contribute to the overall success of the firm. - Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri. - Strong knowledge of law and legal practice acquired through completion of a Juris Doctorate Degree. - Demonstrated experience in handling litigation matters. - Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, and staff. - Ability to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
