POSITION OVERVIEW Are you a driven and experienced legal professional looking for a challenging and rewarding career in commercial and industrial real estate? Phoenix Investors is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team in Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of transactions and gain valuable experience in the real estate industry.
As an Associate Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for managing complex financing transactions, conducting closings, and drafting transactional documents. You will also have the opportunity to work on joint venture formations and assist with litigation on behalf of the company. We are looking for a self-starter with strong analytical and writing skills, who is able to handle multiple transactions and work independently as well as part of a team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review and prepare various legal documents, including contracts, leases, and loan documents • Negotiate and draft letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, and other transactional documents • Coordinate and conduct closings with all parties involved in the transaction • Litigate lawsuits on behalf of the company in various areas of law • Manage communication between all parties involved in the transaction, including clients, opposing counsel, and lenders • Perform other related tasks as needed
The Successful Candidate:
• Has 0-2 years of legal experience, preferably in the real estate transactional space • Possesses a JD from an accredited law school and is an active member of the Wisconsin State Bar • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills • Has experience working with a variety of asset classes, including retail, industrial, and office • Is a driven self-starter with a strong work ethic
