The Law Firm of Daniel Shanfield - Immigration Defense PC is a highly reputable immigration defense law firm located in the heart of Silicon Valley. We specialize in defending immigrants facing deportation for criminal and civil immigration violations, helping asylum seekers find safety from persecution, and assisting legal residents with criminal and immigration issues in obtaining U.S. citizenship. Our firm also provides legal assistance to immigrant crime victims and survivors of domestic violence, helping them obtain legal status and move forward with their lives.
We are currently seeking motivated candidates who are English-Spanish bilingual to join our team as an Associate Immigration Attorney in our Downtown San Jose offices. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $75,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities: - Represent clients before DHS, EOIR, and DOS in various immigration matters including family immigration, naturalization, U visa, asylum, waivers, and more. - Represent clients in Immigration Courts and BIA in removal defense, applications for immigration relief, and other related cases. - Prepare legal briefs and other necessary documents. - Conduct client intake and consultations. - Attend USCIS and Immigration Court hearings. - Maintain reports on client caseload. - Participate in community know-your-rights meetings. - Other tasks as assigned by Firm management.
Qualifications: - J.D. from an ABA certified law school with current Bar Membership in good standing (preferably California Bar). - At least one year of experience as an attorney in family, removal, and immigration legal defense. - Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken). - Strong commitment to immigrants' and civil rights issues. - Excellent interpersonal and advocacy skills, both oral and written. - Desire to advance and grow professionally within the Firm and the immigration legal community. - Strong organizational and planning skills to manage a busy caseload. - Proficiency in INSZoom or other immigration platform is a plus.
