About the Company: - Provides support to over 300 post-acute care operations across 14 states - No traditional management hierarchy, allowing for independent operations - World-class service team provides centralized resources for on-site leaders and caregivers to focus on care and business issues
About the Opportunity: - Provide legal advice and guidance to client facilities in survey management and liability - Educate field personnel in specialized areas - Draft, file, and argue hearings and briefs before regulatory bodies - Work closely with client facilities in investigating regulatory findings and drafting submissions - Participate in mediations and negotiations - Partner with internal and external counsel for case strategy - Represent/support facilities and employees in legal proceedings - Advise on health care laws and regulations
Responsibilities: - Be a culture leader and model company's unique culture - Advise on regulatory issues and directives - Prepare and manage regulatory appeals - Litigate negligence claims and manage discovery, motion practice, and case evaluation - Communicate client facilities' needs to Service Center colleagues - Proactively manage legal risk for client facilities
Professional Qualifications: - Minimum of 4 years' experience in professional negligence and/or elder abuse defense - Risk management experience preferred - J.D. from accredited institution and licensed to practice law in CA - Proven leadership and interpersonal skills - Exceptional presentation, writing, and communication skills
