Job Summary:
Fairview Health Services is seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide legal counsel to the operations area under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer. This role will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts related to healthcare and operational areas. The Associate General Counsel will also provide guidance on regulatory and compliance issues and collaborate with business leaders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on federal, state, and local laws related to assigned business units - Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address legal issues while maintaining compliance - Manage claims and litigation in partnership with outside counsel - Lead cross-functional projects in alignment with the organization's compliance culture - Formulate strategies and make recommendations to senior management - Develop and lead training on various legal topics - Stay informed on changes in laws and regulations and advise business leaders accordingly - Partner with the compliance team to advise on revenue cycle matters - Assist the Legal Department in other subject areas as needed
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school - Admission to the Bar in the state of Minnesota - 4 years of relevant legal experience - Knowledge of health care compliance issues - Strong analytical skills and ability to develop solutions - Excellent judgment and communication skills - Ability to prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced environment - Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team - Licensed to practice law in Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both in-house and law firm settings, with a focus on healthcare - Previous experience with large, complex organizations
