Work location:
This position is based in Davidson, NC and follows a hybrid work schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Job responsibilities:
As the Associate General Counsel, IP, you will report to the Vice President, Chief IP Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. Your primary responsibilities will include directing intellectual property matters, managing transactional and business matters related to technology and innovation.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and implement IP strategies and initiatives Manage the invention review process and create high-value IP assets Oversee IP litigation and outside counsel Handle intellectual property transactional matters Develop technology roadmaps and strategies for business areas Prepare, prosecute, and manage patent applications Provide legal advice and guidance on technology, IP, and innovation matters Oversee trademark and copyright issues Collaborate with cross-functional teams Support educational and innovation initiatives Enact strategies to identify and protect important inventions
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field Juris Doctor (JD) with an emphasis in IP Active admissions to the USPTO and at least one state bar 10-15 years of combined technical and legal experience Experience in IP strategy, licensing, and software development preferred Ability to travel 10% of the time
