Responsibilities: - Research and analyze current state of private sector legal services and job markets - Forecast emerging trends and identify career and job options - Provide tailored career counseling to students and alumni interested in private sector careers - Develop and implement programs, networking events, and resources for traditional and non-traditional private sector practice areas - Assist in maintaining current employer relationships and engaging in outreach efforts to cultivate new relationships - Conduct self-assessments and provide general advice based on expert knowledge of the private sector legal market - Amplify and promote best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging - Develop and maintain a professional network of potential employers and legal professionals - Coordinate with Career Services administrative staff on administrative tasks - Participate in panel discussions and presentations - Research and write articles relating to the private sector legal job market and career services - Collaborate with other legal organizations and recruitment associations - Contribute to local and national press as opportunities arise
Required Qualifications: - Advanced knowledge of career decision making and job search techniques - Highly effective problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills - Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience - Detailed knowledge of the private sector legal employment market - Extensive professional network of practicing attorneys and potential employers - Creative, entrepreneurial, and energetic approach - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing outstanding client services - Excellent computer skills and ability to adapt to new software programs - Strong attention to detail - Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging - Advanced degree in Law and/or minimum of 5 years of private sector legal practice experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced knowledge of career development theories - Knowledge of needs assessment theory and program design and implementation - Knowledge of UC programs
