- Conducting legal research and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda - Providing opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department - Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath - Defending matters assigned by trial or dispositive hearing
Requirements:
- 2-6 years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury - Juris Doctor degree and admission to the California Bar - Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in California and comply with Continuing Legal Education requirements - Ability to travel as needed for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information
