The Associate Counsel, PIP will be responsible for defending arbitrations and lawsuits filed in New Jersey and other first party insurance defense matters. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of related litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury, as well as a Juris Doctor degree and admission to the New Jersey Bar. They must also be able to travel as needed for trials, hearings, and meetings.
Key responsibilities of this role include researching laws and preparing legal briefs and opinions, rendering opinions on coverage and damages, and preparing and handling arbitration submissions and examinations under oath. The candidate must also be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in written correspondence.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $118,900 to $186,550, depending on factors such as experience, education, and location. To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree, admission to the New Jersey Bar, and at least 2 years of related litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury. They must also be able to travel as needed, have strong communication and organizational skills, and be able to learn and apply technical information. Civil litigation experience and insurance defense-related litigation experience are preferred.
