As an Associate Attorney in our workers’ compensation practice, you will be responsible for defending claims against employers in a variety of industries. You will work closely with one or more partners to represent the interests of our clients and handle a caseload. This role involves managing deadlines, conducting depositions, representing clients in mediations, drafting legal briefs and motions, and arguing in hearings before an administrative commission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal analysis on new and existing claims - Investigate cases and review medical records - Develop case strategy and respond to discovery - Draft legal motions and take depositions - Attend hearings and mediations - Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients - Build relationships with a team of attorneys and clients, including insurance adjusters and risk managers - Communicate regularly by creating and submitting reports, motions, and briefs on behalf of clients
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense Litigation - Currently licensed in the state of South Carolina - Strong writing skills with experience in depositions and mediations preferred - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently - Organized and self-motivated
